Welcome to Transition Planning Services (TPS), a proud trans-empowering service for confident people forging new identities in the workplace.
We are here to support and empower you on your journey to becoming your authentic self at work. We understand that coming out as transgender can be a challenging and emotional experience, but you are not alone. Seeking guidance and strength from others who have walked a similar path can provide invaluable support and encouragement. Please surround yourself with a community of allies that understand and celebrate your identity, letting their experiences inspire you to proudly embrace your true self.
As we start 2025, and as we look to the months/years ahead, we see headwinds and roadblocks for the Trans and non-binary community – especially at work. It's a scary time for trans people right now. Social and political conditions in the U.S. are not currently trending in our favor. TPS is committed now more than ever to assist transitioning workers through the process of acceptance by others; we will shepherd your path to professional fulfillment. We can consult with you on legal rights and protections afforded the trans community and connect you with appropriate counsels and advisors.
The facts are: 1.2 million people of working age in America identify as transgender, non-binary, or gender expansive. The employment level of trans people is 15-20% lower than the general population. 82% of trans employees have experienced discrimination or intimidation at work, and about 27% of current trans workers have been denied promotion or advancements because of their gender expression. However, in workplaces that include overt (and honest) policies that protect and celebrate gender diversity within an inclusionary structure and advocate for alternative gendered voices and perspectives -- many fewer trans workers report strained conditions at work.
Please explore our site and if are one of the many hundreds of professional people exploring or engaged in gender transition in the workplace hoping to find advocates and mentors to assist in, what can be, a quite daunting endeavor, please contact us. Transition Planning Services would be privileged to help manage your journey.
